Sound Symposium's first weekend wrapped up Sunday with great weekend of performances, sound art and workshops that really reflected the diverse and eclectic talent of the artists from around the world who come to Sound Symposium.

Photo by Greg Locke. © 2010The morning workshop with Andrea Nann and Brendan Wyatt from Dream Walker Dance was a great prelude to their evening performance at the LSPU Hall.  David Rokeby and Eve Egoyan talked about the crossover of music and the visual in their work, Surface Tension, for the Disk Klavier and Diane Landry's installation, Le chavalier de la resignation infinie, continue to be a hit with visitor to the Band Room at MUN Music.

Darryl Cremasco on Piano and premiered the work of Newfoundland composers, Rob Power, Greg Hawco and Jennifer O'Neill.

Sunday night the LSPU Hall evening concert feature the Dream Walker Dance Company, Ben Grossman and Debashis Sinha and the Complaints Choir by Kellie Walsh, Sean Panting and Angela Antle.

The audio file for Moritz Eggert's Cape Spear Project is now online and is the first part of his work for Saturday night spectacular at Cape Spear. Tickets for this event are $10 cash at the gate and begins at 9:30pm.

It's Sunday morning at Sound Symposium and it was a late light with great performances at MUN Music with Eve Egoyan and the astonishing Surface Tension setting a new standard for the cross-over of the musical and the visual.

Photo by Greg Locke © 2010Moritz Eggert, who is very visual also, on solo piano played a composition that combined every national anthem in the world and the show closed with music from Zimbabwe by Kurai Mubaiwa and Curtis Andrews in very visual outfits.
