The Cape Spear Project by Moritz Eggert. TONIGHT 9:30 at Cape Spear National Historic park

Well, sound folk, it's Saturday morning and the last day of Sound Symposium. It's a beautiful day in St. John's so Sound Symposium is taking the show to the great outdoors for today's performance and tonight's Grand Finale, The Cape Spear Project.

Photo by Greg Locke © 2010So, grab a coffee and start your day at 12:00 Noon by taking in Annie Dunning's installation, AIR TIME, at the Eastern Edge Gallery on Harbour Drive and Frank Pahl's AUTOMATICS at the a1c Gallery around the corner. Then at 12:30 you can catch the last Harbour Symphony standing next to the ships.

umbrellaensembleAt 2:00PM at the MUN BOTANICAL GARDEN on Mount Scio Road its a pondside concert. REEDS,  by the Umbrella Ensemble & Camille Renarhd. Featuring new work by Emily Doolittle for wind instruments and dancer.

THEN ...at 9:30PM THE CAPE SPEAR PROJECT at Cape Spear National Park by German composer, Moritz Eggert will be a spectacular finale under the stars for Sound Symposium XV. Rain venue is Cochrane Street United Church ...but that's not happening, right?

Last nights performance of SPIN by Evalyn Parry, Brad Hart and Anna Friz was a spectacular. A great story with smart writing, innovative music and visual presentation made for one of those performances that will be remembered as a Sound Symposium classic.

Thursday's Harbour Symphony was by Ben Grossman.
